About The Position

The Member Services Representative (MSR) Floater is the first point of contact for members, prospective members, and guests at Planet Fitness. The role provides exceptional customer service, handles membership inquiries and transactions, and helps maintain a clean, comfortable, and friendly “Judgement Free Zone®” environment. The position is on-site and part-time, with a minimum commitment of 16 hours per month; weekly hours are not guaranteed. Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply. Day and evening MSRs must undergo a National Sex Offender Registry search; continued employment is contingent on a satisfactory outcome. The employee must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification and Tanning Certification within the company-required time frames. The role involves an indoor gym environment with exposure to noise, dust, cleaning chemicals, and gym equipment, and requires substantial standing and walking as well as other physical activity. Reasonable ADA accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must work on-site; the position is not remote.
Must commit to at least 16 hours per month; weekly hours are not guaranteed.
Must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search if working day or evening shifts; continued employment depends on a satisfactory result.
Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within company-required time frames and be physically able to perform CPR/AED in an emergency.
Must obtain Tanning Certification within company-required time frames.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are encouraged.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience working in a club fitness setting preferred.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and create a positive club experience.
Respond promptly and courteously to member questions and concerns; inform the Assistant Manager or General Manager if issues arise.
Assist members with account inquiries, changes, and billing questions.
Provide information about memberships and amenities, give tours, assist with sign-ups, and explain membership specials and upgrades.
Meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.
Check members into the club using the POS system and answer phones professionally and efficiently.
Process new memberships, cancellations, and payments accurately.
Follow assigned opening and closing procedures.
Perform assigned cleaning duties and help maintain restrooms, locker rooms, workout areas, and other club spaces.
Return weights to the appropriate rack area and regularly walk the floor to keep it clean, organized, and safe.
Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.
