About The Position

Credit Union West is hiring a frontline, member-facing Member Loan Specialist for its Arrowhead Branch. The role provides members with an industry-leading service experience, consultative conversations, and sound financial advice while developing and expanding member relationships. It supports consumer and business account opening and maintenance, as well as consumer personal and home equity loan applications and funding. Duties are primarily performed at the employee’s home branch, with onsite support at other branch locations as needed. The employee will complete five weeks of full-time training at the corporate headquarters in Glendale, Arizona before transitioning to the home branch. The position requires prior consumer-lending experience, including loan processing and servicing, and a minimum of 3–5 years of lending experience at a financial institution. A high school diploma or GED and an NMLS are required. The role can involve shifts between Monday and Saturday, 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.; bilingual ability is preferred.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
A minimum of 3–5 years of lending experience in a financial institution.
Prior consumer-lending experience, including loan processing and servicing.
NMLS required.
Ability to work shifts between Monday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Effective oral and written communication with employees and members.
Critical thinking and self-reliance to analyze and solve problems.
Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt to serve members and employees.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and collaborative tools such as Teams and Zoom.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the organization’s Employee Handbook and policies.
Functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable federal laws, including the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, Anti-Money Laundering requirements, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and Bank Bribery Act.
Ability to comply with the credit union’s mission, vision, and core values.

Responsibilities

Provide member service and financial guidance aligned with the credit union’s mission, core values, and service standards.
Meet or exceed sales and production objectives by handling member requests, identifying needs, and making recommendations.
Process and fund consumer loans, including personal loans, credit cards, auto loans, and home equity loans; submit qualified referrals and offer related ancillary products.
Complete loan and title documents accurately and participate in outbound calling campaigns as needed.
Open, maintain, and close membership accounts, including savings, checking, certificate, retirement, business, trust, and estate accounts.
Provide timely follow-up and assist members with online banking, direct deposit, automatic transfers, account maintenance, and other services.
Support members through phone and email, communicate professionally, and encourage adoption of digital services.
Complete teller transactions as needed.
Serve as a subject matter resource for the branch team and act as a lead in a manager’s absence, including de-escalating member concerns.
Use sound judgment to provide overrides within permission authority and keep the manager informed of concerns.
Follow compliance and security protocols and retain knowledge of policies and procedures.
Complete auditing, cash ordering, and vault-related responsibilities as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
