About The Position

At The Windham, Medication Technicians provide compassionate, direct care to residents by assisting with medication administration and activities of daily living according to residents’ personalized medication and treatment plans. The role contributes to a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes residents’ comfort, safety, and well-being. PM and NOC availability is sought, and weekend work is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current First Aid and CPR license, or ability to obtain one.
• At least 12 months of experience administering medications in a professional caregiving setting.
• Excellent attention to detail and high integrity.
• Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
• Positive attitude, empathy, patience, and commitment to treating residents with dignity and respect.
• Willingness to participate in weekend rotation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with memory care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with the daily administration of prescribed medication, including self-administration, as outlined in individual care plans.
• Follow documentation protocols and report changes in resident status.
• Help manage medication inventory and proper storage, and coordinate medication reorders and deliveries with pharmacies as needed.
• Provide compassionate support with activities of daily living in a team setting as needed.
• Promote residents’ independence and provide emotional support through ongoing engagement and companionship.
• Encourage and assist residents to participate in life enrichment activities.
• Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
