About The Position

Founder's House of Hope, an assisted living facility for adults ages 18–59 in Artesia, California, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Medication Technician to support residents in the mental illness community. The role is described as an overnight (NOC) position in a fast-paced environment. Full-time and part-time positions are available in various shifts. The Medication Technician prepares and assists with residents’ self-administration of medications according to physician orders and the MAR, documents medication administration, and supports caregivers with residents’ activities of daily living. The role also includes communicating resident changes or concerns, completing required paperwork, and maintaining medication and supply inventories and the medication cart.

Requirements

Pass the DOJ/FBI Live Scan criminal background clearance mandated by licensing.
Pass pre-employment physical and TB test clearance.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience in caregiving and medication administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assist with residents’ self-administration of medications according to doctors’ orders and the MAR.
Accurately log medication administration on the MAR, including PRN medication.
Assist caregivers with daily assignments and ensure completion of assistance with residents’ Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with residents, families, and the Wellness Coordinator regarding changes or resident concerns.
Complete outstanding daily paperwork, including filing, medication logging, and centrally stored records.
Order, receive, and inventory supplies and medications to ensure availability; maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the medication cart.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Administration.
