About The Position

The Primary purpose of the Medication Technician is to ensure all medications are passed according to orders in QuickMAR and assist the caregivers with providing care to the residents ensuring care is provided in a manner consistent with Bainbridge Senior Living’s mission. This position provides support to Caregiving staff and may be assigned to Caregiver shifts when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D) preferred
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Washington State License Requirements: Current Certified Nursing Assistant license or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire OR Current Nurse Assistant Registered license with proof of work prior to 2012 OR Current Home Care Aide license
  • Dementia and Mental Health specialty training within 90 days of hire
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Washington State Food Worker Card or the ability to obtain within 14 days of hire
  • 12 Hours of Continuing Education Units each year by birthday
  • Nurse Delegation and Insulin Delegation required
  • Proficient at reading, writing, and communicating in English
  • Ability to occasionally lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to walk and/or stand up to 80% of the work day

Responsibilities

  • Provide appropriate medication administration and companionship for residents including talking, listening, walking, playing games, reading aloud, etc. and assisting residents with activities of daily life
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers to ensure top level care is provided while working together to problem solve
  • Build strong relationships with residents, their families, and the broader community to create a supportive and inclusive living environment.
  • Ensure highest quality of care and medication administration is provided to residents while meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Follows all policies and procedures while supporting the organization’s goals and values and remaining professional at all times.
