About The Position
The Medication Assistant supports residents with medication needs in an assisted living community and may also assist residents in Memory Care. The role includes maintaining and ordering medications, documenting medication assistance, providing support with activities of daily living and basic care, monitoring residents for changes in condition, transporting residents within the community, and responding promptly and safely to emergencies, requests, and environmental hazards. This is a part-time, hourly position paying $19.00–$21.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet all state educational requirements for the position.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification.
- Experience working with an elderly population.
- A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance.
- Experience with dementia patients.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and order medications and assist residents with medication needs.
- Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
- Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, wound care, and communication with outside health care professionals as necessary.
- Observe residents for changes in physical or mental state and report changes to leadership.
- Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
- Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
