Medication Assistant, Memory Care
About The Position
Spectrum Retirement Communities is seeking a Medication Assistant to support residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care. The role includes maintaining and ordering medications, assisting residents with medication needs, and documenting medication assistance. The Medication Assistant also supports residents with daily living and basic health needs, monitors and reports changes in residents’ physical or mental condition, transports residents within the community, and responds appropriately to emergencies, requests, and environmental hazards. The position is full-time. A high school diploma or equivalent and applicable state education requirements are required. CPR certification, experience with older adults, and experience with dementia patients are preferred or helpful.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and order medications and assist residents with medication needs.
- Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
- Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, wound care, and communication with outside health care professionals as needed.
- Observe residents for changes in physical or mental state and report changes to leadership.
- Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
- Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
