About The Position

Brookdale Waxahachie is hiring a Medication Technician for its assisted living and memory care community in Waxahachie, Texas. Based on state regulations and after completing required training and certification, the Medication Technician administers medications and treatments as prescribed by a health care provider or assists residents with self-administration, then observes and reports responses to a supervisor. The role also helps maintain an organized, clean medication supply room, supports medication cart audits, accurately counts medications, and coordinates medication deliveries with pharmacies. Training and certification are required as specified by state regulations. Responsibilities

Administer or assist with self-administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by a health care provider, in accordance with state regulations and required training or certification.
Observe and report residents’ responses to medication and treatments to a supervisor.
Keep the medication supply room organized and clean.
Assist with medication cart audits.
Provide accurate counts of medications.
Communicate with pharmacies to coordinate medication delivery.
