Medication Assistant, Memory Care - NOC
About The Position
The Medication Assistant supports residents with medication needs and provides direct care to residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care. The role includes maintaining and ordering medications, documenting medication assistance, supporting activities of daily living, taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, and communicating with outside health care professionals as needed. The Medication Assistant observes and reports changes in residents’ physical or mental condition, transports residents within the community, and responds promptly and safely to emergency calls, requests, and environmental hazards. This is a full-time overnight-shift position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet all state educational requirements for the position.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification preferred.
- Experience working with an elderly population preferred.
- A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
- Experience with dementia patients is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
- Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
- Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living.
- Take vital signs and provide first aid and wound care.
- Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
- Observe changes in residents’ physical or mental state and report changes to leadership.
- Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
- Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
