About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Registered Medication Aide for its inpatient detox and residential treatment facility in Richmond, Virginia. The role provides medical support to help stabilize clients and enable them to participate in treatment. It includes assisting with nursing shift duties, coordinating care with medical and clinical teams, maintaining medical supplies, arranging medical appointments and post-discharge aftercare, and supporting pharmacy and prescription authorization needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Valid licensure to serve as a Medical Assistant in the state.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of substance use and its biopsychosocial consequences.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, timely medical care to stabilize clients and enable them to engage fully in treatment.
• Assist with nursing shift duties, including taking vitals, conducting drug screens, managing medications, charting, and reporting.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical teams to coordinate care.
• Manage, order, and restock medical supplies as needed.
• Schedule medical appointments and arrange aftercare providers for post-discharge care.
• Assist with pharmacy needs and prescription authorizations.
