About The Position

This position is located within the Department of Patient Administration, Admissions and Disposition. Day shift Monday through Friday, interaction with customers will be both via telephone and in person. This is a Direct Hire solicitation (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Duties include preparing correspondence in response to requests for patient medical information, receiving, processing, and completing registrations and admissions of patients to a medical center, utilizing automated medical health systems for effectiveness and efficiency, and reviewing work for timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Must undergo a background investigation and credit check.
  • Must meet mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and be subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons.
  • Must undergo immunization screening.
  • Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
  • May be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Must undergo Tuberculosis testing.
  • Must be able to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations during severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes performing clerical or reception duties; receiving patients in person or telephonically; and entering patient data into an automated system.
  • OR Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
  • OR A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Must be a qualified typist (able to type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors).
