About The Position

This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. Duties: Serve as an Office Automation Assistant, performing a variety of clerical functions. Use office automation equipment, software, and systems to produce a variety of documents, manage calendars, electronic mail, spreadsheets, and graphics. Follow established procedures for the transmittal, receipt, and acknowledgment of email messages, checking transmittals for proper clearances. Perform a broad range of duties using a web-based customer feedback systems. Coordinate reporting and response to submitted comments, ensuring follow-up by appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption
  • Immunization screening is required
  • Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
  • Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position
  • Probationary Period - 1 Year may be required
  • This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors
  • Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions
  • Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations
  • US Citizens
  • One year of specialized experience which includes experience in performing routine clerical duties such as receiving telephone calls or greeting visitors; Maintaining records and document filling; Preparing documents, correspondence and/or reports using a variety of office automation systems.
  • Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees
