About The Position

Sacramento Ear, Nose & Throat’s (SacENT) is looking to fill a Medical Scheduler position in our Arkansas location. The Medical Scheduler is responsible for making and scheduling patients’ appointments in an efficient and timely manner. This role also involves handling referrals, authorizations, and insurance verifications. Additionally, the Medical Scheduler will maintain the database, update patient information, answer phones, screen calls, and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • High School degree or GED
  • Appropriate grammar and writing skills
  • Understanding of patient education needs and ability to provide education

  • Good judgment and decision making
  • Knowledge of healthcare field and medical specialty
  • Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families

  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
  • Ability to coordinate patient care with team members and other appropriate departments
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in computerized appointment scheduling.
  • Computer competency: Ability to type 40 wpm, use standard office equipment and be computer literate.
  • Critical Thinking: Above average ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and phone calls while maintaining a professional courteous demeanor.
  • Must be able to handle patient confrontations in a positive manner.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations and have the ability to develop triage skills.
  • Above average ability to problem solve, solution and detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • EPIC knowledge
  • Two years medical clerical experience preferred.
  • Good communication and language skills required.
