About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Medical Scheduler schedules patient appointments and tests efficiently and in a timely manner, and serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff. The role supports and adheres to the Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. This is a contract-to-hire position based fully onsite in Midland, Texas. The stated pay range is $17.00–$22.00 per hour; individual compensation depends on factors including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors. The position is anticipated to close on November 18, 2026.

Responsibilities

Schedule returning patients in the computer system according to physician and office guidelines.
Cancel or reschedule appointments following physician schedule changes and notify appropriate clinic personnel.
Maintain the primary office scheduling template, including physician meetings, satellite schedules, rounding, and call coverage.
Arrange financial counseling for patients as needed.
Protect patient and clinic/practice confidentiality.
Follow policies and procedures that contribute to front-office efficiency and cover other front-office functions as requested.
Prepare correspondence, memos, forms, and other typed materials as requested by the supervisor.
When applicable, schedule post-operative follow-up appointments with physicians.
Where applicable, use an understanding of medical terminology for tests and surgical procedures, including coding, and look up codes specific to diagnoses, surgery, and scheduling procedures.
