About The Position

The Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) is the first point of contact for patients and helps set the tone for their visit through excellent patient care. The role also handles administrative responsibilities to create a smooth patient check-in and check-out experience. The position is based at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in Florence, Kentucky.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Favorable result on a background check.
Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact courteously and professionally with employees at all levels.
Ability to work over 40 hours to meet business needs.
Open availability to work any or all shifts during office hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; may need to work earlier or later as needed.

Responsibilities

Facilitate patient flow in the office and be mindful of patients’ and doctors’ time and schedules.
Provide exceptional customer service in person and by phone; greet patients promptly and professionally, and thank them when they leave.
Answer internal and external phone calls and respond courteously and promptly.
Verify medical and vision insurance.
Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and managers.
Respond to inquiries by phone, email, and in person.
Know common fees for visits and collect the correct payments.
Complete daily reconciliations, close the day, and count down the cash drawer.
Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.
