About The Position

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Medical Receptionist III to serve as a first point of contact for patients and support efficient office operations and exceptional patient care. The role serves as the point person for the Reception team and includes overseeing daily work queues, acting as a Serves and Collections Advocate, and handling moderate and complex billing issues. The position is based in Pediatrics Genoa and is a full-time day-shift role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of Billing 101.
• One to two years of experience in a medical or physician office or customer service environment is preferred.

• Coursework in insurance or billing, medical practice education, or seminars.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
• Check patients in and verify registration and insurance information.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.
• Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
• Partner with providers and clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.
• Oversee daily work queues.
• Serve as the point person for the Reception team.
• Create and administer Reception schedules.
• Train new Reception employees.
• Handle moderate and complex billing issues.
• Serve as a Serves and Collections Advocate.
