Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical receptionist or front desk role within a healthcare setting or related field.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare administrative procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients promptly and courteously, verifying personal and insurance information.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, and billing.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to communicate patient arrivals and manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Process patient payments, co-pays, and assist with insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
  • Prepare and distribute patient intake forms and ensure completion prior to appointments.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence related to patient care.
