About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for a Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in an inpatient setting. The average census is 15 patients. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, serving an adult patient population. The facility uses EPIC for its EMR system. Credentialing takes approximately 30 days, with temporary privileges available.
Requirements
- Active Washington licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 1-year Medical Oncology experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Washington OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Washington
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
