About The Position

Corewell Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their growing Medical Oncology Program in Grand Rapids, MI. This role focuses on solid tumor treatments and offers a flexible work schedule (four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts) with a balance between outpatient and inpatient cross-coverage. The position is based at the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion, part of Corewell Health's comprehensive cancer program in West Michigan, which includes over 150 physicians across 17 oncology specialties, multispecialty teams, and tumor boards. The Corewell Health Cancer Program provides a wide range of services including multispecialty teams, screening & prevention, supportive/integrative/palliative care, diagnostic & treatment services, clinical trials, 11 comprehensive programs, specialized radiation oncologists, a Breast Diagnostic Center, nurse navigation, palliative care services, psychiatric oncology, and cancer rehab. This is a full-time position working closely with employed physicians, involving seeing established patients for solid tumor and/or first visits. While previous oncology experience as an advanced practice provider is preferred, new graduates with prior Oncology RN experience or demonstrated oncology interest will also be considered.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistants: Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
  • Physician Assistants: LIC-Physician Assistant - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • Physician Assistants: CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire required
  • Physician Assistants: CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
  • Physician Assistants: CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
  • Physician Assistants: CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
  • Nurse Practitioners: Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission

Nice To Haves
