About The Position
TeamHealth is seeking a physician to serve as Medical Director in the emergency department at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, Maine. The role combines emergency medicine patient care with department leadership. Medical Director support includes career advancement opportunities, a stipend, support from a system medical director, administrative time, departmental meetings, new-clinician orientation guidelines, and quarterly goal progress meetings. The facility has an annual emergency department volume of 12,000, 25 hospital beds, and 8 ED beds. Physician coverage is provided 24 hours per day, with advanced practice clinician coverage for 8 hours per day. Shifts are listed as 6–6, and the EMR is Cerner. The position offers an estimated base salary of $260 per hour.
Requirements
- Board certification or board eligibility in emergency medicine, or in internal medicine or family medicine with emergency medicine experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality patient care in the emergency department.
- Attend departmental meetings.
- Support new-clinician orientation using established guidelines.
- Participate in quarterly goal progress meetings.
- Provide medical director leadership for the emergency department.
