About The Position
OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital is seeking a facility medical director to lead its emergency medicine department. The role reports directly to the regional medical director and vice president of operations and oversees full-time physicians and advanced practice clinicians. The facility medical director develops and sustains relationships, influences clinical strategies and workflows that promote evidence-based practice and patient satisfaction, and works to improve value-based healthcare delivery. The position is responsible for managing the facility’s clinical, financial, human, and capital resources. OhioHealth Van Wert has an annual emergency department volume of 12,500, 28 hospital beds, and 11 ED beds. Physician coverage is provided 24 hours per day, with APC coverage for 8 hours per day Sunday through Thursday. The department has medium acuity, a 10% admission rate, diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, and uses Epic as its EMR.
Requirements
- Board certification in emergency medicine, or board certification in internal medicine or family medicine with previous emergency medicine experience.
- Ability to lead effectively.
- Exceptional candidates ready to take on their first leadership position will also be considered.
