About The Position
TeamHealth is seeking an emergency physician to serve as Assistant Medical Director at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, New York. The role combines active clinical practice in a collaborative emergency department with protected administrative leadership responsibilities. The Assistant Medical Director works closely with hospital and physician leadership to support quality initiatives, physician mentoring, departmental operations, clinician engagement, and patient care excellence. The position offers opportunities to influence department quality, operations, and patient experience, as well as develop toward further leadership roles. The hospital is an 84-bed acute care community hospital serving the Hudson Valley region.
Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible in emergency medicine (ABEM/AOBEM).
- Demonstrated leadership experience or a strong interest in emergency medicine leadership.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Support emergency department quality initiatives.
- Mentor physicians and support clinician engagement.
- Support departmental operations and operational performance.
- Help advance patient care excellence and patient experience initiatives.
- Maintain an active clinical practice in the emergency department.
- Work closely with hospital and physician leadership.
