About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Courier to join its team in New Britain, Connecticut. The Courier is responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while providing excellent service to clients. The role includes use of a company vehicle for the route. For $125 per month, the employee may optionally take the vehicle home and use it for personal purposes.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:15 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. The pay range is $17.75 to $21.00 per hour. Labcorp describes itself as a global leader in laboratory services, diagnostic testing, and drug development solutions, with a mission to improve health and improve lives.

Requirements

• No education or experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Be punctual and demonstrate strong time-management skills.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Be able to problem-solve customer issues.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least one year of driver or courier experience.
• At least one year of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Load all necessary supplies for daily pickups.
• Complete the daily pickup schedule in a timely manner.
• Deliver all daily pickups to the branch at the end of the shift.
• Handle specimens and laboratory samples safely and efficiently.
• Safely operate a company vehicle and obey traffic laws.
• Use a handheld electronic device to manage daily pickups.
• Work directly with the dispatcher for additional pickups as needed.
• Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed.
• Pick up, transport, and deliver medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while providing excellent client service.
