About The Position

Rapid Medical is a tech-forward logistics partner for labs, clinics, and health systems. This independent-contractor courier route runs from Newbury Park, California, to Los Angeles, covering approximately 45 miles, Monday through Friday, with a 12:00 PM start and an estimated duration of three hours. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or along the route are considered well-suited for the position. The all-inclusive route rate is $82, with mileage, drive time, and expenses factored in. Weekly bonus opportunities are available, and sign-on and training bonuses are paid subject to the stated conditions. Payments are made by bi-weekly direct deposit or same-day cash-out, which may incur fees. Contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes; a 1099-NEC is issued for payments made. Drivers use the company app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support. The company provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding that includes an app walkthrough, route preview, and protocol training, and dispatch support throughout the route. All contractor engagements require a satisfactory background check and MVR review. Rapid Medical provides opportunities without regard to protected characteristics.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have a personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
Have a valid driver's license, active insurance, and a satisfactory driving record (MVR).
Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data service.
Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Pass a satisfactory background check and MVR review.
Be reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable adjusting as needed.
As an independent contractor, be responsible for self-employment taxes.

Responsibilities

Complete the assigned medical courier route and stops using the driver app for navigation and scheduling.
Photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery in the app.
Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required temperature, including room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen as applicable.
Contact dispatch promptly if an item appears damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning.
Communicate promptly when issues arise and adjust to changing circumstances as needed.
