About The Position

Rapid Medical is seeking an independent contractor to run a medical courier route from Monterey Park to Los Angeles. The route covers approximately 50 miles and operates Monday through Friday, starting at 12:00 PM and taking approximately 2.5 hours. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or along the route are considered well-suited.

The courier uses the company driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support; photographs pickups and deliveries and logs proof of delivery; handles specimens carefully at the required temperature; and promptly contacts dispatch about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding, route preview, protocol training, and dispatch support. This is a 1099 independent-contractor engagement; contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes, and a 1099-NEC is issued for payments made. Engagement is contingent on satisfactory background and motor vehicle record reviews.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a personal vehicle; vehicles from 2016 or newer are preferred.
• Hold a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance.
• Have a satisfactory driving record and pass the motor vehicle record review.
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Pass a satisfactory background check.
• Be reliable and punctual, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable adapting to changes.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• A personal vehicle from 2016 or newer is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete the assigned medical courier route between Monterey Park and Los Angeles.
• Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and route support.
• Photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery in the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions.
• Contact dispatch promptly if an item appears damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning.
