About The Position

Rapid Medical is seeking an independent-contractor Medical Courier for a weekday route from Canyon Country, California, to Los Angeles. The route covers approximately 40 miles and runs Monday through Friday, starting at 12:00 p.m. and lasting approximately 1.7 hours (estimated end time 1:45 p.m.). Contractors located within 15 miles of the route’s start point, end point, or along the route are well-suited for this position. The courier uses a driver app for navigation, scheduling, real-time support, and proof-of-delivery records. Duties include handling medical specimens carefully, maintaining required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions, and promptly contacting dispatch about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items. Compensation is an all-inclusive rate of $80 per route, with mileage, drive time, and expenses factored in. Weekly bonus opportunities are advertised, along with training and sign-on bonuses subject to the stated conditions. Payments are made by bi-weekly direct deposit or same-day cash-out, which may involve fees. This is an independent-contractor engagement; contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes, and a 1099-NEC is issued for payments. A satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review are required. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding that includes an app walkthrough, route preview, and protocol training, and real-time dispatch support. Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have a personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
Have a valid driver’s license and active insurance.
Have a satisfactory driving record, subject to motor vehicle record review.
Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data.
Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Pass a satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review.

Nice To Haves

Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
A personal vehicle from 2016 or newer is preferred.
Living within 15 miles of the route’s start point, end point, or along the route is a good fit.

Responsibilities

Complete the weekday medical courier route from Canyon Country to Los Angeles.
Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and route support.
Photograph pickups and deliveries and log proof of delivery through the app.
Handle specimens carefully and maintain required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions.
