About The Position

Rapid Medical is seeking an independent-contractor medical courier to run a 69-mile route from San Gabriel to Los Angeles, Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30 PM and lasting approximately five hours (until about 12:30 AM). Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or along the route are well-suited for this position. The all-inclusive rate is $122 per route and includes mileage, drive time, and expenses; there is no separate per-mile pay. Weekly bonuses may also be available. Payments are made by bi-weekly direct deposit or same-day cash-out, with fees potentially applying to cash-out.

Couriers use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, real-time support, and proof-of-delivery records. They handle specimens carefully and maintain the required temperature, whether room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding that includes an app walkthrough, route preview, and protocol training, plus real-time dispatch support. Engagement is contingent on satisfactory background and motor vehicle record reviews. As an independent contractor, the courier is responsible for self-employment taxes; Rapid Medical issues a 1099-NEC for payments made.

Requirements

• Have a personal vehicle; vehicles from 2016 or newer are preferred.
• Have a valid driver's license, active insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review.
• Be reliable and punctual, detail-oriented, communicate promptly when issues arise, and be comfortable adjusting to changing circumstances.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• A personal vehicle from 2016 or newer is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete the assigned San Gabriel-to-Los Angeles route Monday through Friday.
• Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and route support.
• Photograph pickups and deliveries and log proof of delivery in the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required temperature.
• Contact dispatch promptly if anything appears damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise unusual.
