About The Position

Rapid Medical is seeking an independent contractor to deliver medical specimens on a Sunday route from Pasadena, California, to Los Angeles. The route is approximately 49 miles and is estimated to take 2.5 hours, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or anywhere along the route are considered well-suited.

The all-inclusive rate is $80 per route, with mileage, drive time, and expenses included. A weekly bonus opportunity of $20–$100 is available. A $150 sign-on bonus is paid after 30 active days with no call-offs, and a training bonus is paid after 30 days with no call-offs. Payment is made by biweekly direct deposit or same-day cash-out, for which fees may apply.

Couriers use Rapid Medical’s driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support; photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery; handle specimens carefully while maintaining required temperatures; and promptly contact dispatch about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding and protocol training, and real-time dispatch support. Engagement requires satisfactory background and motor vehicle record checks. Contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes, and a 1099-NEC is issued for payments.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
• Have a valid driver’s license, active insurance, and a satisfactory driving record (MVR).
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Pass a satisfactory background check and MVR review.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• Vehicle model year 2016 or newer is preferred.
• Reliability and punctuality, attention to detail, prompt communication, and comfort adjusting to changing circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Sunday medical courier route from Pasadena to Los Angeles, approximately 49 miles and 2.5 hours.
