About The Position

Rapid Medical is a tech-forward logistics partner for labs, clinics, and health systems. This independent-contractor courier role covers a Saturday route in Los Angeles, totaling approximately 43 miles and 3.5 hours, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Contractors near the start point, end point, or along the route may be well-suited.

The courier uses the driver app to navigate and manage scheduled stops, photographs pickups and deliveries, and records proof of delivery. Specimens must be handled carefully and kept at the required temperature. The courier must contact dispatch promptly about damaged items, improper packaging, or other issues. Rapid Medical provides onboarding and real-time dispatch support. Contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes; payments are reported on Form 1099-NEC.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a personal vehicle; vehicles from 2016 or newer are preferred.
• Have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance.
• Have a satisfactory driving record; a satisfactory motor vehicle record review is required.
• Have an iOS 13+ or Android 11+ smartphone with reliable data.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Complete a satisfactory background check and MVR review.
• Be reliable and punctual, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable adapting to changes.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• Live within 15 miles of the route's start point, end point, or somewhere along the route.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Saturday Los Angeles courier route, approximately 43 miles and 3.5 hours.
• Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and route support.
• Photograph pickups and deliveries and log proof of delivery through the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required room, refrigerated, or frozen temperature.
• Contact dispatch promptly if anything appears damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning.
