About The Position
Rapid Medical is seeking an independent-contractor Medical Courier to complete a 60-mile route from Los Angeles to Los Angeles on Saturdays. The route starts at 6:30 p.m. and takes approximately four hours. The all-inclusive rate is $105 per route, with a $150 sign-on bonus after 30 active days with no call-offs and a weekly bonus opportunity. Contractors are paid by bi-weekly direct deposit or may use same-day cash-out, for which fees may apply. Couriers use a driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support. They photograph pickups and deliveries, record proof of delivery, handle specimens carefully, maintain required temperatures, and notify dispatch promptly about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items. The role requires a personal vehicle, smartphone, valid license, active insurance, and a satisfactory driving record, as well as the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding and protocol training, and dispatch support. Contractor engagements are subject to satisfactory background and motor vehicle record checks. Contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes and receive a 1099-NEC for payments made.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Have a personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
- Have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance.
- Have a satisfactory driving record and pass the required MVR review and background check.
- Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data.
- Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Be reliable and punctual, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable adapting to changing circumstances.

Responsibilities
- Complete the assigned 60-mile Los Angeles-to-Los Angeles courier route on Saturdays, starting at 6:30 p.m.
- Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and route support.
- Photograph pickups and deliveries and log proof of delivery through the app.
- Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required room, refrigerated, or frozen temperature.
- Contact dispatch promptly if an item is damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise appears problematic.
