About The Position

Rapid Medical is seeking an independent-contractor Medical Courier for a Saturday route from Thousand Oaks, California, to Los Angeles. The route covers 56 miles, starts in Thousand Oaks, and is estimated to take approximately 3.5 hours, from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or anywhere along the route are considered well-suited.

The route pays an all-inclusive rate of $97; mileage, driving time, and expenses are factored into that rate, with no separate per-mile pay. A weekly bonus opportunity is listed as $0, while the pay details also describe weekly bonuses of $20–$100. A $150 sign-on bonus is paid after 30 active days with no call-offs, and a training bonus is paid after 30 days with no call-offs. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding, route preview, protocol training, and dispatch support. Contractors must pass a satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review and are responsible for self-employment taxes. A 1099-NEC is issued for payments made.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a personal vehicle; a 2016-or-newer vehicle is preferred.
• Have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance.
• Have a satisfactory driving record and pass an MVR review and background check.
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data service.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• Vehicle model year 2016 or newer is preferred.
• Being located within 15 miles of the route's start point, end point, or along the route is considered a good fit.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Saturday delivery route from Thousand Oaks to Los Angeles, covering approximately 56 miles.
• Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and communication with real-time support.
• Photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery through the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions.
