About The Position

Rapid Medical is seeking an independent-contractor medical courier to run a Saturday evening route from San Gabriel to Los Angeles, covering 59 miles and approximately 4.5 hours. The route pays an all-inclusive $120 per run; mileage, drive time, and expenses are included, with no separate per-mile pay. A $150 sign-on bonus is available after 30 active days with no call-offs. Contractors use a driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support. They photograph pickups and deliveries, record proof of delivery, carefully handle specimens, and maintain required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions. Contractors must promptly contact dispatch about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding that includes an app walkthrough, route preview, and protocol training, and dispatch support throughout the route. Engagement requires satisfactory background and motor vehicle record checks. Contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes, and a 1099-NEC is issued for payments made.

Requirements

• Personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
• Valid driver's license, active insurance, and a satisfactory driving record (MVR).
• Smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Satisfactory background check and MVR review.
• Reliable and punctual, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable adjusting as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or along the route are well-suited for the position.
• A 2016 or newer personal vehicle is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Saturday route from San Gabriel to Los Angeles, covering approximately 59 miles.
