About The Position

Rapid Medical is a technology-forward logistics partner serving labs, clinics, and health systems. This independent-contractor courier route runs from Ventura, California, to Los Angeles, California, covers 94 miles, and is scheduled for Sundays from 7:00 PM to approximately 10:00 PM. The route rate is $110, inclusive of mileage, drive time, and expenses. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or along the route are well-suited for the position.

Couriers use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support; photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery; handle specimens carefully and maintain required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions; and promptly contact dispatch about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding, route preview, protocol training, and real-time dispatch support.

Contractors must pass a satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review. They are responsible for self-employment taxes, and Rapid Medical issues a 1099-NEC for payments. Payment is available by biweekly direct deposit or same-day cash-out, which may involve fees. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
• Have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance.
• Have a satisfactory driving record, subject to motor vehicle record review.
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data service.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Pass a satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review.
• As an independent contractor, be responsible for self-employment taxes.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• Being located within 15 miles of the route's start point, end point, or anywhere along the route is well-suited to the position.
• A 2016 or newer personal vehicle is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete the scheduled Sunday medical courier route from Ventura to Los Angeles.
