About The Position

EPIC Health is hiring an on-site Medical Assistant in the West Peterson Avenue area on Chicago’s North Side. The Medical Assistant is an essential member of the care team, providing patient support and assisting with clinical and administrative care. The role involves welcoming and escorting patients, recording vital signs and patient histories in the EHR, performing injections and vaccinations, explaining procedures, collecting blood and urine samples, scheduling follow-up appointments, and contributing to team and process-improvement initiatives. Background checks are required.

Requirements

• Experience as a Medical Assistant, completed coursework in the field, or willingness to gain hands-on patient-care experience.
• Previous phlebotomy experience.
• English/Assyrian bilingual ability.
• Care about making a difference in community health.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and escort patients to exam rooms and create a welcoming environment.
• Measure and record vital signs in the EHR.
• Document patient symptoms and medical history.
• Perform injections, vaccinations, and other treatments.
• Explain procedures to patients.
• Collect blood and urine samples to support diagnostic evaluations.
• Schedule follow-up appointments.
• Participate in process-improvement initiatives and support the team as needed.
