Medical Assistant - Assyrian/Arabic Speaking
About The Position
EPIC Health is seeking an Assyrian/Arabic-speaking Medical Assistant to support its care team at an on-site location in the West Peterson Avenue area on Chicago’s North Side. The role helps deliver care to frail and vulnerable patients and their caregivers. The Medical Assistant welcomes and escorts patients, measures and records vital signs in the EHR, documents symptoms and medical histories, performs injections and vaccinations, explains procedures, collects blood and urine samples, schedules follow-up appointments, and contributes to team process-improvement efforts. Background checks are required.
Requirements
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, completion of coursework in the field, or willingness to gain hands-on patient care experience.
- Previous phlebotomy experience.
- English/Assyrian bilingual ability.
- Care for community health and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Growth mindset, willingness to learn and adapt, and a collaborative, can-do attitude.
- Must complete a background check.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients, escort them to exam rooms, and create a welcoming environment.
- Measure and record vital signs in the EHR.
- Document patient symptoms and medical history.
- Perform injections, vaccinations, and other treatments.
- Explain procedures to patients.
- Collect blood and urine samples.
- Schedule future appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
