About the position
We are seeking a Senior Media Planning Specialist based in Denver, Colorado or open to relocation. This role requires a media expert with experience across all channels, who can translate big ideas into real-world application. The ideal candidate will be a creative and innovative leader, collaborating with strategy and creative teams to elevate go-to-market strategies. They should also have a strong understanding of emerging media and technologies. This position involves managing day-to-day media planning work, developing strategic recommendations, and maintaining positive relationships with media vendors. The Senior Media Planning Specialist will also be responsible for optimizing campaigns and staying current on industry trends and opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day media planning work for core client set
- Leads the development of strategic and tactical media recommendations for clients
- Leads the development of the media flowchart
- Acts as the leading media voice in all client conversations, providing proactive guidance and problem solving
- Utilizes key media planning tools and applies them effectively
- Works closely with other facets of the Media Team to evaluate audience, geographic, and media vendor information for developing media plan recommendations
- Identifies and prepares non-media projects and recommendations such as competitive reviews, target audience profiles, and geographic analyses
- Maintains positive relationships with media vendor partners and stays updated with marketplace trends
- Collaborates with the Media Buying team to ensure flawless implementation of approved media recommendations
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of client industry/business and stays familiar with client history, organization, and procedures
- Provides energy and brings new ideas to motivate team members
- Identifies opportunities to be a thought-leader for clients and prospects through content development and client recommendations
- Monitors active campaigns and optimizes them for maximum performance
- Updates Director on current account status and elevates any issues in a timely manner
- Reviews reporting dashboards to identify key performance insights and presents them to clients
- Evaluates current Planning resources and proposes additional tools needed to stay on top of trends and deliver strong strategic recommendations
- Creates and reviews media authorizations for campaign accuracy and flawless execution
- Evaluates current processes, workflows, and resources and communicates any additional needs or issues to the Director
- Stays current on media trends and opportunities in the industry
Requirements
- Manages day-to-day of all media planning work for core client set.
- Leads the development of strategic and tactical media recommendations for clients, as well as the development of the media flowchart.
- Leading media voice in all client conversations, providing proactive guidance and problem solving as needed.
- Has thorough knowledge of key media planning tools, and understands how/where to apply them.
- Works closely with other facets of the Media Team to evaluate all audience, geographic, and media vendor information necessary to develop the media plan recommendation that best delivers upon our client goals and objectives.
- Ability to identify the need for and prepare non-media projects and recommendations, including but not limited to competitive reviews, target audience profiles, geographic analyses, etc.
- Maintains a positive rapport with media vendor partners, keeping up to date with the latest trends in the marketplace.
- Works closely with the Media Buying team to ensure flawless implementation of all approved media recommendations.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of a client industry / business, maintaining familiarity with the history, present organization and procedures of the client, as well as conditions of the industry.
- Provides an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas, motivating other team members.
- Identifies opportunities to be a thought-leader for clients and prospects, whether through the proactive development of content or client recommendations.
- Keeps a pulse on all active campaigns, identifying opportunities to optimize the campaigns to maximize performance.
- Updates Director on status of current accounts on an ongoing basis and elevates and issues in a timely manner.
- Reviews all reporting dashboards to identify key performance insights and is integral in presentations to clients on an ongoing basis.
- Evaluates current Planning resources and proactively brings proposals to the Director for any additional tools needed to stay on top of current trends and to ensure we are delivering strong strategic recommendations to our clients.
- Creates & reviews all media authorizations to ensure campaign accuracy and flawless execution.
- Helps evaluate current processes, workflows and resources and is responsible for elevating to the Director when there are any additional needs or issues.
- Stays current on all media trends and opportunities in the industry.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
