Mechanical Engineer - Aircraft Integration

Tyonek Native Corporation•Madison, AL

About The Position

Tyonek is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support aircraft integration efforts for current and future warfighters. The role involves designing and developing the integration of avionics and weapons systems into rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft platforms for U.S. Department of Defense, foreign military, and/or commercial customers. Depending on the candidate’s experience, the position may include serving as a technical lead during design and test phases. The position level will be matched to the candidate’s experience. The engineer develops CAD technical data packages, including 3D models and 2D drawings, and creates design solutions for complex aircraft mechanical issues. Work considers weight, thermal, vibration, corrosion, and airworthiness requirements. The role also includes classical and finite element analysis, airworthiness certification documentation, coordination with manufacturing engineering, design reviews, installation instructions, and engineering support through prototyping, verification, validation, installation review, and component qualification testing. The role normally works in an office setting with controlled temperature, with duties that may also involve aircraft installations and work at heights. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Tyonek and its subsidiaries may extend hiring preferences to ANCSA shareholders under Federal Law. Tyonek is an Equal Opportunity Employer and VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
