About The Position

The Lead Engineer – LP Hood will design project-specific low-pressure (LP) hood components and crossover pipes for combined-cycle steam turbines. The role contributes to product and solution development and overall steam turbine system design for combined-cycle projects, supporting execution across the product lifecycle and projects worldwide. The engineer works closely with internal teams—including steampath, rotor, thermodynamics, and manufacturing—as well as external stakeholders. The position also supports junior LP hood engineers in their daily work and professional development. GE Vernova describes its steam turbine engineering team as developing highly efficient turbomachines using engineering disciplines integrated with digital technologies. The role is part of GE Vernova’s Steam Turbine Engineering team. Relocation assistance is provided. The company states that it will not sponsor a working visa for this opening, and U.S.-based candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. U.S.-based compensation is listed as $89,300–$148,700, with geographic differentials in certain areas and eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus. The posting was dated November 2, 2026 and was expected to remain open for at least seven days.
