About The Position

The Lead Engineer – LP Hood designs project-specific low-pressure (LP) hood components and crossover pipes for combined-cycle steam turbines. The role contributes to product and solution development and overall steam turbine system design for combined-cycle projects, and works with internal partners including steampath, rotor, thermodynamics, manufacturing, and onsite teams. The engineer helps ensure timely project execution worldwide and supports junior LP hood engineers in their daily work and development. The position applies engineering sciences and digital technologies across the product lifecycle, including mechanical design fundamentals, structural analysis, material properties, statics, strength of materials, and finite element analysis. It also supports technology advancements, RTS and NPI activities, and safe manufacturing and field activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience.
  • For U.S. applicants: at least 4 years of engineering experience in structural design and familiarity with structural component operability/design processes, tools, and procedures.
  • For applicants outside the U.S.: solid engineering experience in structural design and familiarity with structural component operability/design processes, tools, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the employer will not sponsor a working visa now or in the future.
