About The Position

Apple is seeking a forward-thinking, creative Analog/mixed-signal IC Designer to develop high-performance analog mixed-signal IP for future Apple products. The role requires in-depth knowledge of analog IC design and verification tools, transistor operation and device physics, and mixed-signal design techniques. The engineer will generate circuit views for complex design flows, perform post-layout simulations, validate top-level integration, drive layout activities, and review lab measurements. The position also involves working collaboratively toward team goals.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art analog IC design and verification tools.
  • Deep knowledge of transistor operation and device physics as applied to analog design.
  • In-depth experience designing analog building blocks such as OTAs, OpAmps, PTATs, BGRs, and LDOs.
  • Deep knowledge of mixed-signal design techniques, including small-signal analysis, feedback-loop theory, and noise analysis.
  • Knowledge of high-speed interface architectures and designs, including transmitters, receivers, PLLs, DLLs, phase interpolators, and CDRs.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in mixed-signal design verification.
  • Broad knowledge of Matlab and Verilog-A modeling.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Tcl to automate simulation and verification tasks is desired.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Teamwork attitude and ability to work toward team goals.
  • PhD or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Good knowledge of machine learning and experience using AI to automate design tasks.
  • Specific experience with memory interfaces such as DDR, LPDDR, or HBM.

Responsibilities
