About The Position

This is an onsite, second-shift role at Philips’ Latham, New York facility, which manufactures magnets for MRI machines. The Mechanic operates and maintains handheld and bench-mounted power tools to fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical components for MRI systems. The work follows safety and ESD protocols and involves collaborating with engineering and quality teams to interpret technical drawings, complete precise assemblies, and document tool usage and maintenance in compliance with medical-device manufacturing standards. Candidates must be able to perform the stated physical, cognitive, and environmental requirements, with or without accommodation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with light industrial work or home improvement work.
• Experience with soldering, wiring, fabrication, or a general warehouse setting.
• Ability to successfully perform the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements, with or without accommodation.
• U.S. work authorization; candidates requiring work-authorized visa sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered.
• Must reside in or within commuting distance of Latham, New York.

Responsibilities

• Operate handheld and bench-mounted power tools, including drills, riveters, torque drivers, and grinders.
• Maintain power tools.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical components for MRI systems accurately.
• Follow safety and ESD protocols.
• Work with engineering and quality teams to interpret technical drawings and perform precise assemblies.
• Document tool usage and maintenance to support compliance with medical-device manufacturing standards.
