About The Position

The Meat Packer boxes and scans orders and assists machine operators with running machines and processing orders, in an apprentice-type role. The position requires working in a fast-paced, refrigerated processing and warehouse environment that is cold and wet, with regular exposure to moving machinery and sharp surfaces. Heavy lifting is required, and standing, walking, reaching, and handling equipment are regular activities. Basic ability to read tickets and special requests, recognize cuts of meat, write numbers and basic descriptions, and perform basic math.
Basic reading and writing skills.
Ability to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced environment.
Ability to be trained and learn new skills.
Ability to lift heavy items and regularly stand, walk, and reach.
Ability to touch, feel, and manipulate fingers and limbs to operate processing and material-handling equipment.
Ability to smell to detect wholesomeness and spoilage.
