About The Position

The Meat Packer boxes and scans orders and assists machine operators with properly running machines and processing orders through them in an apprentice-type role. The position involves working in refrigerated processing and warehouse areas that are cold and wet, with regular exposure to moving machinery and sharp surfaces. The work includes heavy lifting and extended periods of standing, walking, reaching, and operating processing and material-handling equipment. Basic ability to read tickets and special requests, recognize cuts of meat, write numbers and basic descriptions, and perform basic math.
Basic reading and writing skills.
Ability to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced environment.
Ability to be trained and learn new skills.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to perform regular standing, walking, and reaching, and to use fingers and limbs to operate processing and material-handling equipment.
Ability to smell to detect levels of wholesomeness and spoilage.
