About The Position
The Meat Packer is responsible for accurately and tastefully packing beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood products while meeting customer specifications. The role involves following company packaging standards and customer-specific instructions, checking product quality, and completing assigned tasks efficiently. The position is based in Orlando, Florida.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity by following established policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of production equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow food safety and occupational safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Pack products accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow company-standardized packaging specifications and customer-specific deviations communicated through work orders or cut tickets.
- Read and understand customer-specific instructions.
- Perform quality-control checks and report defects to supervisors and managers.
- Inspect meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.
- Obtain and distribute products to the appropriate packing lines.
- Weigh meats and tag containers with their weight and contents.
- Complete tasks effectively to reduce processing costs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
