About The Position

Earth Fare Team Members help ensure customers have a fulfilling visit by answering questions and meeting their shopping needs. The company’s mission is to help people live healthy lives, and Team Members guide customers toward trusted healthy food and wellbeing and household products that meet Earth Fare’s standards. The Meat Cutter serves customers by helping them select meat and providing recommendations and product information. The role safely cuts and handles meat, maintains meat and seafood displays and inventory, and keeps the department clean and organized. Team Members also collaborate across the store, participate in cross-training, and assist in other departments as needed. The position is listed as full-time/part-time, with an hourly range of $15.00–$20.00.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability in knife handling, use of other cutting equipment, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, help them select meat cuts, provide recommendations, and answer questions.
Follow safety protocols to prevent contamination and handle and store meat properly.
Set and maintain meat and seafood cases and displays.
Apply first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory practices to sell older stock first and reduce waste.
Safely use hand tools and powered equipment, including grinders, a cubing machine, and power saws, to cut meat.
Understand different cuts and types of meat and advise customers about them.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the department, including fixtures, storage areas, workstations, freezers, and coolers.
Collaborate with team members to support smooth store operations.
Participate in cross-training across grocery departments, such as produce, bakery, and customer service.
Assist in other departments as needed and adapt to varying roles and responsibilities.
