About The Position

Central Market is seeking a Production Specialist to handle fresh ingredients. Production Specialists work under direct supervision and apply basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment in their area of specialization. They are responsible for achieving goals and objectives and use specialized subject-matter knowledge. The role involves preparing, handling, and selling products while maintaining product quality, sanitation, and organization. The position requires customer service and availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to work overnight and flexible schedules.

Requirements

At least 1 year of food preparation experience.
2–5 years of related experience.
Demonstrated expertise about food and ability to share that expertise.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to coach other Partners.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to inform customers about ingredients.
Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads of at least 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, push, and pull.
Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience with commercial production.

Responsibilities

Unload products from trucks and transport them to storage areas.
Ensure product quality before products are sent to the sales floor.
Maintain sanitation in the department.
Keep back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production areas organized.
Read and execute the daily production list.
Calculate figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages, and volumes.
Provide customer service, including answering questions and taking phone orders.
Assist in monitoring the quality of goods and monitor shrink.
Order and receive products and supplies.
Maintain transfer records.
Prepare, wrap, price, sell, and continuously stock products.
Demonstrate products or prepare customer samples for self-service.
Provide superior customer service.
Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales.
Perform other job-related tasks as requested by a supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodations.
