About The Position

Central Market is seeking a Production Specialist to handle fresh ingredients. Production Specialists work under direct supervision and apply basic and some advanced skills, procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to their area of specialization. The role requires specialized subject matter knowledge and availability that includes days, evenings, and weekends. The position involves preparing, wrapping, pricing, selling, and stocking products; ensuring product quality and department sanitation; maintaining organized storage and production areas; and serving customers. Requirements

2–5 years of related experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to inform customers about ingredients.
Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads of at least 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, reach, push, and pull.
Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience with commercial production is preferred.

Responsibilities

Mix, shape, bake, wrap, and stock products.
Ensure product quality before items are sent to the sales floor.
Maintain sanitation in the department.
Keep back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production areas organized.
Read and execute the daily production list.
Calculate figures and amounts, including weights, discounts, percentages, and volumes.
Provide customer service, including answering questions and taking orders by phone.
Assist in monitoring the quality of goods and monitor shrink.
Order and receive products and supplies.
Maintain transfer records.
Prepare, wrap, price, sell, and continuously stock products.
Demonstrate products or prepare samples for customer self-service.
Provide customer service and use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales.
