About The Position

Prepare and display meat items for sale according to company standards and policies while serving customers. Demonstrate the company’s leadership behaviors and the core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Maintain product freshness, quality, proper rotation, and inventory levels, and keep work areas, equipment, tools, and supplies clean, safe, and organized. Provide prompt, courteous customer service and follow company, health department, and applicable legal requirements.

Requirements

Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, and similar materials.
Ability and qualifications to operate power and other job tools, including an automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, and jack.
Ability to work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help department members.
Ability to handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
Willingness and availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

Meat work experience or similar food preparation experience.
A work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, and food handling.

Responsibilities

Prepare and display merchandise neatly, efficiently, and in an orderly manner.
Check product quality and ensure products are fresh, safe, and properly rotated.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and freshness in display cases.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers, floors, equipment, tools, and supplies clean, safe, and organized.
Unload trucks, sort merchandise, and prepare it for sale.
Provide good customer and associate relations; greet customers, help them find products, and serve them promptly and cheerfully.
Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and Health Department policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, neat, and friendly impression for customers and communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
Follow current department and company rules and applicable state and federal laws.
Interact promptly, tactfully, calmly, courteously, and professionally.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those concerning dress, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Maintain equipment and facilities safely and properly according to company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
