About The Position

Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Serve customers and provide customer service while demonstrating the company’s leadership behaviors and its core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Maintain merchandise quality, freshness, rotation, and display-case inventory. Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers, equipment, and work areas clean, orderly, and safe. Unload trucks and prepare merchandise for sale. Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and Health Department procedures. Assist customers promptly and cheerfully, and maintain courteous, professional relationships with customers and associates. Follow applicable company, department, state, and federal rules, including policies on dress, grooming, food safety, sanitation, equipment maintenance, and maintaining a workplace free from unlawful harassment or discrimination. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Willingness and availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, and similar materials.
Ability and qualification to operate power equipment and job tools, including an automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, and jack.
Ability to work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help department members.
Ability to handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly and make a positive impression on associates and customers.

Nice To Haves

Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
A past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, and food handling.

Responsibilities

Prepare and display merchandise neatly, efficiently, and in an orderly manner.
Check product quality and ensure products are fresh, safe, and properly rotated.
Maintain proper inventory levels and freshness in display cases.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers, floors, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas.
Unload trucks, sort merchandise, and prepare it for sale.
Provide good customer and associate relations; greet customers and help them find products.
Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully at the counter.
Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and Health Department policies and procedures.
Maintain equipment and facilities safely and properly in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Follow applicable department, company, state, and federal rules and policies, including food safety, sanitation, dress, grooming, and workplace conduct requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
