About The Position

Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Serve customers and provide customer service while demonstrating the company’s leadership behaviors and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Maintain product quality, freshness, inventory, and food safety; keep work areas, equipment, and supplies clean and organized; and follow company, health department, and applicable legal requirements.

Requirements

Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, and similar materials.
Qualified and able to operate power tools and other job tools, including an automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, and jack.
Able to work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willing to help all department members.
Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.

Nice To Haves

Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
A past work record that reflects dependability and integrity.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, and food handling.

Responsibilities

Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, and orderly manner.
Check product quality to ensure products are fresh, safe, and properly rotated.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and organized; keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Work display cases to maintain proper inventory levels and freshness; unload trucks, sort merchandise, and prepare it for sale.
Provide good customer and associate relations.
Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and Health Department policies and procedures.
Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
Communicate with customers and fellow associates.
Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully, greet them, and assist them in finding products.
Follow current department and company rules and duties, as well as applicable state and federal laws.
Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly; be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in interactions.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly regarding dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
